Oberammergau 2010

Including Padua, Venice & Salzburg 21st – 28th July

Day 1. 14.30 check-in at Dublin airport Aer Lingus flight to Munich departing at 16.30,
and arriving at 19.55. Transfer to hotel for 2 nights, dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 2. Morning panoramic tour of Munich includes : Cathedral, St Peters church,
Town Hall, Bavarian State Opera House, Hofbrauhaus, Ruhmeshalle, Olympic
Stadium etc. Afternoon drive to Dachau. Visit the Nazi German concentration
camp where we remember “mans inhumanity to man”

Day 3. Drive to Oberammergau, with free time to stroll around the small town. Lunch.
Afternoon and evening, attend the world famous Passion Play. Over 2,000
participants bring the story of Jesus of Nazareth to the audience, in a 5 hour
presentation on an open-air stage. The play covers the period of Jesus
entering Jerusalem and continues to His death on the Cross and Resurrection.
Dinner and overnight in the Oberammergau district.

Day 4. Morning visit Weiss Kirche, and nearby see Castle of mad King Ludwig II, at
Neuschwanstein. Afternoon drive over the Alps via Innsbruck and Verona, to
Padua and check into hotel for 3 nights, dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 5. Morning visit Basilica and tomb of St Anthony, and shrine of St Leopold Mandic.
Afternoon relax on the beach at Lido di Jesolo.

Day 6. Day in Venice – ferry to St Marc’s Square, see Basilica of St Marc, Doges Palace,
the Grand Canal, Rialto Bridge – and take an optional canal trip by Gondola.

Day 7. Morning drive to Salzburg. See the great Fortress, Cathedral, Mozart Square,
Mozarts birthplace, and Leopoldskron Palace (Sound of Music).
Check into hotel for 1 night, dinner, bed & breakfast.

Day 8. Morning optional visit the Eagles Nest – magnificent views. Midday depart for
Alotting and visit the famous chapel of Mercy, credited with many miraculous
cures. Silver urns contain the hearts of many Bavarian Monarchs. Continue to
Munich airport for return Aer Lingus flight to Dublin, departing at 20.45 and
arriving at 22.15.
